Didi arrived at the shelter underweight, with a dirty coat and a serious eye problem. Her left eye had atrophied and dark brown discharge was coming from both eyes. A veterinary examination revealed that her left eye was irreparably damaged – the iris had an irregular appearance and the shape and boundaries of the pupil could not be assessed. In addition, she was missing two teeth and two loose teeth had to be removed. Didi received antibiotics, painkillers and eye drops, but surgery to remove her left eye was necessary for her recovery. Didi is currently recovering well and is receiving post-operative pain management and is still under veterinary supervision. Didi has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed.
